Umbrella-iTesla Common Workshop

04 May

“Innovative tools needed for the future and stable system operation” supporting R&D Plan Cluster 3 “Network Management and Control”, Brussels, Belgium, on June 21, 2012.

Innovative tools for the future coordinated and stable operation of the pan-European electricity system will be researched and developed by projects iTESLA and UMBRELLA (FP7). The projects are linked to Topic ENERGY.2011.7.2.1 of the ENERGY-2011-1 Call and started their work in January 2012. The aim of both projects is to develop a simulation toolbox supporting future coordinated operations of the pan European electricity transmission network. Both projects are part of the ENTSO-E Research and Development plan and the European set plan of the EEGI. The results will enable TSOs to ensure secure grid operation also in future electricity networks with high penetration of intermittent renewables. It enables TSOs to act in a coordinated European target system where regional strategies converge to ensure the best possible use of the European electricity infrastructure.

You are cordially invited to participate in the UMBRELLA’s first workshop: “Innovative Tools Needed for Future and Stable System Operation” to be held in Brussels, Belgium, on June 21, 2012.

It is the first time that the iTesla and UMBRELLA projects are holding an open workshop to present ideas to the wider audience. It will be an opportunity for the electricity transmission system operators, academics, industry researchers, market and industry analysts, government officials and policy makers, to attend this event, exchange ideas and develop a new vision for the future of the operation of the electricity transmission network.

We sincerely hope that you will join us in making Workshop: Innovative Tools Needed for Future and Stable System Operation a true success. We look forward to welcoming you to Brussels and to the promising workshop.
